PRINCIPAL SENIOR CONSULTANT

The Principal Consultant is typically the lead technical resource provided to the project team by Oracle Communications to architect business solutions and study requirements to determine appropriate migration and implementation plans.
The Role
This role requires a technical leadership role providing highly complex solutions to major Tier-One operators across EMEA. Providing technical leadership and ownership for customers, delivery partners and internal teams delivering solutions using Oracle Communications products:
• Customer facing role at many levels
• Requires travel across EMEA and may involve up to 80% of time working at customer locations.
• Working directly with senior customer stakeholders to influence, define and agree the solution and systems architecture.
• Technical leadership of multi-disciplined technical teams through the whole solution delivery lifecycle covering definition, implementation, verification and deployment stages.
• Support the sales cycle working closely with sales account managers and pre-sales engineers to define account technical strategies, define technical solutions, provide pre-sales assistance and deliver to customers.
• Own the solution transition from sales and pre-sales into solution delivery.
• Developing and configuring OSS/BSS solutions
• Provide thought leadership and mentoring for team members
Knowledge and Technical Skills:
• Extensive experience of customer facing engagements for all stages of the solution delivery lifecycle.
• Extensive experience in the telecommunications industry with network technologies and network management processes.
• 7 years+ experience of delivering major software deployment projects.
• Proven experience of service fulfilment solutions, including the delivery of service Order processing, activation, network engineering and inventory solutions OR BRM solutions.
• Detailed understanding of the challenges of delivering solutions in Tier-One operators.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to peer with and influence technical teams and be able to abstract to communicate clearly to wider project and customer teams at all levels.
• Commercially aware in all aspects of the solution delivery lifecycle.
• Experienced of software architectures and technologies including:- Oracle, UNIX, J2EE, XML, Java, C/C++
• Detailed understanding of some of the technologies used in the telcoms industry:- IP, MPLS, VoIP, POTS, ATM, FR and Wireless (inc 3G),
• Experience with software systems and architectures often used by telecommunications operators (MetaSolv, Telcordia, Tertio, Amdocs, Cramer, TeMIP, Vitria, TibCo…)
Education & Experience:
• Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering or similar technical discipline.
• 7+ Years experience in the architecture, design development and implementation of information technology systems/solutions for the communications industry.
